Course Name: Creative Writers’ Summer Experience
Course Description:
The Creative Writers’ Summer Experience is a virtual course for those 13-18 who would like to expand their horizons, capabilities, and imagination in the topics below and work towards creating a finished piece with skilled teachers and peers. Students will experience microlessons, peer work, expert feedback, challenges, games, and have time to write and create in sessions and between sessions. The student writers will work on ONE of three projects throughout: short story, poetry, or a short play.
- Writing scenery/imagery that pops
- Mastering a story arc
- Building conversation that ignites a story
- Gaining awareness of the power of editing & feedback
- Creating multi-dimensional and intriguing characters
- Understanding the structures, forms, and organization to make your creativity leap off the page
- Getting your grammar on point
- Learning to employ literary devices to your advantage
- Successfully transitioning to create flow
Ages: 13-18
Dates & Times:
Creative Writers’ Summer Experience will meet for three hours per day with breaks two days per week for five weeks. Writing, creating, and editing in the interim between sessions is expected. You have two options for sign up.
Option 1:
June 13 & 14, June 20 & 21, June 27 & 28, July 11 & 12, and July 18
Classes will not meet the week of July 4 & 5
7am – 10am PT, 8am – 11am MT, 9am – 12pm CST, and 10 am – 1pm ET
Option 2:
June 13 & 14, June 20 & 21, June 27 & 28, July 11 & 12, and July 18
Classes will not meet the week of July 4 & 5
11am – 2pm PT, 12pm – 3pm MT, 1pm – 4pm CST, and 2pm – 5pm ET
Cost: $750

Course Description: The Life Hacks Summer Experience is a virtual course for those 16-20 who would like to be more prepared for college, adult life, and taking on more responsibilities and independence by expanding their awareness of the specific topics below:
- Money, credit, budgets, etc.
- Media safety, consumption, and awareness
- Home & Car
- Life Balance
- Packing & Moving
- Professionalism & Conflict Resolution
- Understanding Self & Others
- Goal Setting, Time Management, and Productivity
- Health & Wellness
Ages: 16-20
Dates & Times: Life Hacks Summer Experience will meet for three hours per day with breaks for five days from Monday through Friday. You have two options for sign up.
Option 1:
July 24, 2023 to July 30, 2023 (one week)
8am – 11am PT, 9am – 12pm MT, 10am – 1pm CST, and 11 am – 2pm ET
Option 2:
July 31, 2023 to Aug 4, 2023 (one week)
10am – 1pm PT, 11am – 2pm MT, 12pm – 3pm CST, and 1pm – 4pm ET
Cost: $450
